In this short video I explain how young men and boys who come to the attention of services due to being on-road and gang-involved are sometimes the hidden victims of childhood domestic violence and abuse. This issue came to my attention in front-line work and I explored it further in my research. I am interested in how young people enacting violence can be an expression of their own vulnerabilities and call on services to try and create opportunities for earlier intervention and support to these, often seemingly unlikely victims of violence and abuse themselves.
